  16. your path-definition ends with two(!) slashes: 
  17. #define DEFAULT_PK_PATH ".:/usr/public/lib/texmf/fonts//pk//"
  18.  
  19. This ask the program to recursively search through all
  20. subdirectories below pk. To find those subdirectories
  21. all entries in pk have to be scanned and files are
  22. excluded as candidates for further subdirectory search.
  23.  
  24. If you have no subdirectories below pk, do not end the path
  25. with a doubled slash.
